I started pursuing photography soon after the birth of my daughter. There were many details of her growth that I desperately wanted to capture including the inexpressible love and connection I had with her as a first-time mom. Photography became my way of preserving those memories. I began experimenting with self-portraits with my family and became convinced that I also wanted to document those precious early moments of us together for my children. What a gift it is to be able to give tangible memories to our children! After all, I think even more than our own baby pictures, the few pictures of us with our parents are the ones we keep returning to and are etched on our hearts. I know as mommas we tend to be the ones snapping the photos of our children from day to day (which is important!), but it seems that even though we are the ones with them the most, we are often in the photos the least.

I want to help take care of that for you. I have personally experienced the value and luxury of having someone else take the photos of me and my family, so that I could be freed up to focus on them and take in the special moments. I consider photography as an investment. It may mean putting money aside each month to afford hiring a photographer or forgoing other things, as our family has done in the past. Looking back, it was worth it! Photography is one of those rare things in life that doesn't lose value over time, but rather does the opposite. It's an investment to reflect and celebrate the love and bond that's in your family through pictures- those things words cannot capture.
